Saint Peter's Basilica

Saint Peter's Basilica was, without a doubt, the crown jewel of our trip to Rome. We went to Mass there three times. Our trip also included a tour of the Scavi and Saint Peter's Tomb and the Tombs of the Popes beneath Saint Peter's, as well as the Sistine Chapel, but photos are not allowed in any of those locations. However, photos are allowed in Saint Peter's Basilica, and we shot hundreds of them. It was difficult to choose the best ones for the webpage, but I did my best.

The obelisk in Saint Peter's Square is actually a holdover from Nero's Circus that was once located there.
The Church added a cross on top of the obelisk and claimed it as her own.

Jesus hands the keys of the Church to Saint Peter. (Matthew 16:18-19)
