Saint Peter's Basilica
Old Saint Peter's Basilica was built on this site in 333 by Emperor Constantine.
Construction of the present-day basilica, over the old one, began in 1506 and was completed in 1626.
Saint Peter's tomb is located directly below the altar of the basilica.
