Alaska Photos Page 11
The Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center (AWCC) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to preserving Alaska’s wildlife. AWCC takes in injured and orphaned animals year-round and provides spacious enclosures and quality animal care. Animals that cannot be released into the wild are given a permanent home at the center. AWCC provides visitors with the opportunity to view Alaskan wildlife up close and in their natural habitat. Our visit to the AWCC was fantastic! The photos speak for themselves. We got to see grizzly bears, black bears, moose, caribou, reindeer, fox, eagles, owls, and much much more.
AWCC had several moose in captivity so Jodie finally got to see one up close and in person, but then, on the return trip back to Anchorage in the bus, she most assuredly realized her dream to its fullest extent when we spotted a big old moose out in the wild timberland along the side of the road. This time, I was fast enough on my feet (or on my shutter, if you prefer) to get a photo. The bus was in motion at the time so the photograph is a bit blurry and I had to shoot through the window, but I'll take it!

After our trip up Mount Alyeska on the tram, we all boarded the bus and made our way over to the Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center.

Hugo stands up for her picture - yes, Hugo is actually a female.

A moose in the wild, finally! I shot the photo through the window of a moving bus so it's blurry, but I'll take it!
