The Amalfi Coast

The Cathedral of Saint Andrew in the town of Amalfi, built in the early 1200's.
The cathedral features an Arab-influenced exterior and the relics of Saint Andrew the Apostle (Saint Peter's brother) in its crypt.
Connected to the cathedral is an older basilica (now a small museum) and the fascinating Cloister of Paradise, both containing medieval murals.

Saint Andrew. He is often depicted with an X-shaped cross.
Tradition says that Saint Andrew was crucified on an X-shaped cross.
All of the apostles, except John (and Judas Iscariot, who hanged himself), were martyred.
